Syracuse University. Publications and Resources

Most of what is included here explores the discrimination against women with disabilities in employment in general, and much of it covers women with physical or sensory disabilities. But also included are articles concerning the affect of disability (whether a child’s or a mother’s) on work participation; an increasing amount of international perspectives of women with disabilities and employment; restrictions placed on women who may be able to work but are constrained by governmental definitions of “disability” and are often dependent on welfare or similar assistance programs; the effect of gender on employment in disability-related fields; and many other topics. The topic of women and care work (most often unpaid care) may also of great interest. See the section on Women and Care for the resources on this topic.
