Inclusive Social Protection Checklist

 Inclusive Social Protection Checklist

This checklist was adapted from CBM’s guide ‘Inclusion Made Easy’ (available at www.cbm.org ) based on findings from the project ‘Applied Research Concerning Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Systems of Social Protection’.

This checklist can be used to perform a basic internal assessĀment of the inclusivity of existing social protection activities or to provide a set of initial questions to assist in the planning of a formal evaluation of a programme. It can also be used to inform the planning process for social protection programmes which are intended to be inclusive and gender-sensitive. The primary focus of the checklist is on mainstream rather than disability-specific social protection programmes. Specific questions may be relevant to particular kinds of social protection programmes only, so the checklist should be reviewed and adapted to the context before use. Some questions can be answered directly, others – such as the attitudes of staff – may require further investigation, e.g. through a short survey or questionnaire.
