20110926 Disability, CBR & Inclusive Development

This new journal, formerly the Asia Pacific Disability Rehabilitation Journal, is an important resource that aims to publish evidence based information to address the needs of practitioners (particularly those from developing countries), policy makers, organisations of persons with disabilities and the scientific community. The shift and evolution of this journal from an Asia Pacific to a global focus that encompasses issues related to disability, CBR and disability inclusive development is timely and deserved.

The first edition of this new journal presents an array of articles that cover a variety of topics. The guest editorial provides an interesting critique of the social model of disability while other topics covered include quality of life for leprosy affected people in Nepal and the training needs of CBR workers. This is an excellent journal to be aware of and its broad focus will ensure it becomes a key resource for many disability and development practitioners.
